“Entourage” Parody Sneak Peek
As promised here are some images from the parody of “Entourage”, entitled “Entergarbage” in this month’s issue of MAD:
Initial pencils of a section of the splash
Inks
Final color
Some individual panels…
This was a fun one to do, as many of the faces were great to draw. Kevin Dillon‘s “Johnny Drama” was particularly fun.
You may notice Britney Spears‘ face changed a lot from the pencil sketch to the inked version. This is an example where MAD asked for some changes. The editors felt I made Britney too hot, and they wanted me to make her look less attractive and more on the trashy and puffy side. This was before her head shaving incident, or I certainly would have had some fun with that.
You can see the entire splash page in the MAD Art section of my site. I went a little overboard on the splash, but it was an opportunity to do a lot of celebrity cameos and site gags that doesn’t present itself in too many projects. The point of “Entourage” is the cult of celebrity and the extension of one person’s celebrity to many people that surround him/her. There are lots of party scenes int he show, and lots of celebrity cameos in them, so this was a natural direction.

Woo hoo! Aquaman! Great work, Tom!
Yes, great stuff – I can’t wait to read it! And that Kid Rock back there is just downright hilarious.
Tom– Great job fitting in and drawing Borat in the splash of “Entergarbage”. Also, great splash altogether!
Thanks, guys. I did have a lot of fun with that one. I had a lot of time to work on it and that makes a difference.
