50 Years of Sergio!
October 29th, 2010 | Posted in General
The great Sergio Aragon?¬©s is celebrating 50 years as a professional cartoonist, which since 1963 include his contributions to MAD Magazine. The Huffington Post has an artcile about Sergio and his new book MAD’s Greatest Artists: Sergio Aragon?¬©s: Five Decades of His Finest Works (which, BTW, is as fantastic as you would expect). Congratulations mi amigo… and here’s to many more years!

Is your picture the cartoonist equivalent of a comedy roast? I guess a roast is just another name for a tribute, but if there was a collection of “insults, praise, outlandish true and untrue stories, and heartwarming tributes” (Wikipedia), especially for Aragones, I’d buy it.
I did that caricature of Sergio for printed materials for a National Cartoonists Society event where, in part, they had a evening roast of Sergio.
Great caricature, Tom! I’ve always liked Sergio’s work.
Always loved his marginal thinking.
