A MAD Visit
This past week I went to NYC to participate in the filming of a CBS Sunday Morning special segment on MAD’s 60th anniversary, and spent Wednesday in the MAD offices with several other members of the Usual Gang of Idiots. Not sure I will actually be on TV at all, but it was fun to hang out. Present were the entire MAD staff (including longtime artist and current art director Sam Viviano) as well as UGOI’s Tom Bunk, Dick DeBartolo,¬¨‚ĆDesmond Devlin, Al Jaffee, Peter Kuper, Jacob Lambert (also a staffer now), Matt Lassen, Patrick Merrell and James Warhola, Here are some pictures (clicky to embiggen):
Some of the Usual Gang: Peter Kuper, Al Jaffee, myself, Tom Bunk

Peter Kuper actually worked on a Spy vs. Spy during the filming
Al Jaffee delivered his Fold-In for MAD #519!

The segment they filmed will air on CBS Sunday Morning on Oct. 28th. There will be an interview with MAD editor John Ficarra, a tour of the offices, some comments by some famous MAD fans and more. You might even see some of us photo-bombing in the background.
MAD also just added a post about the CBS thing on The Idiotical, along with some great pictures.
