Another CLAPTRAP Splash Page Reveal!
Here’s a sneak peek at another of the parodies that will appear in Des Devlin and my upcoming book CLAPTRAP… “The Shawshank Redemption!” The stats:
- Oscar Nominations: 7
- Golden Globe Nominations: 2
- Screen Actors Guild Award Nominations: 2
- Director’s Guild of America Nominations: 1
- Writer’s Guild of America Nominations: 1
- MAD Magazine spoofs: 0
This movie never got a parody in MAD, likely because it was a box office disappointment back in 1994 and was up against “Pulp Fiction” and “Forrest Gump,” both of which DID get the MAD treatment. Since then, “Shawshank” has become a cult classic that constantly appears in “The Best Movies of All Time” lists on the internet, has been run on cable TV approximately a Gajillion times, and is otherwise one of the most popular films ever.
Well NOW it gets the roasting it so richly deserves, and if you are a CLAPTRAP backer, so get to read the rest of it when the book comes out!
So you now know CLAPTRAP will contain parodies of “Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker” and “The Shawshank Redemption”… what other movies are we planning on spoofing? Tomorrow Des and I will reveal the names of three more of the eight spoofs we already have planned. That leaves three more of the eight we’ve got lined up still under double super secret wraps. The other two of our ten parodies are for our “Doofus” and higher backers to nominate and vote on. Remember, if we reach our 3rd stretch goal, we’ll add an 11th parody to the book!
Jump on board and support CLAPTRAP if you haven’t already. If you have, share the link and spread the word to make help make the book bigger and better!
