Bart Visits MAD
May 15th, 2007 | Posted in MAD Magazine
Since we are doing video links already this week, here’s one from the Simpson’s episode where the family visits NYC and Bart wanders off to find the MAD offices:
I seem to remember hearing about another episdoe (or maybe this same one?) where the MAD offices gets blown up by a missile. Chances are after 9-11 that one won’t be seen on reruns. I couldn’t find that one on YouTube.

Hi Tom —
I’m embarrassed to say that I know that was episode “New Kids On The Blecch” from Season 12. I have seen it rerun a couple times, I guess it’s ’cause Timberlake is in it.
Love the site —

Interesting you should mention 9-11, because in this particular episode with Bart visiting MAD, they pulled this scene right after the attack:

Yes, it’s edited out of most syndicated re-runs because of 9/11?¬¢‚Äö√ᬮ¬¨¬∂ BUT of course I found it lurking on YouTube. MAD turns up around halfway through the clip, and the offices go “ka-flooey” at the end. Fortunately, the writing staff survive. Not sure about the artists.

Before the MAD building gets blown up you see the writers saying something along the lines of “Hey, let’s call it everyones HATES Raymond.”
