Just announced a new workshop scheduled for 2019: Las Vegas! Taking place at Light Forge Studios near The Orleans hotel (and casino… duh) on February 8-10th. My last announced workshop in Orlando sold out within hours… just sayin’. I still have a single spot available each for my London and Phoenix workshops, and two now available for the Minnesota one, all taking place in 2018. READ MORE

San Diego Comic Con was its usual totally insane, overcrowded, smelly, frustrating bunch of awesomeness. I was kept incredibly busy doing various commissions from “live caricature” style drawings to more elaborate cover sketches and other fun stuff. The one above was one of my favorites from the week. Typically I got to spend far less time than I would have liked to with lots of people there. That’s the frustrating part. Well, that and people stopping in the middle of a shoulder-to-shoulder crowded walkway to get their 10th picture of a cosplay Deadpool of the day. Check out this great recap of the MAD panel… READ MORE

It was a big MAD day at SDCC yesterday with the New MAD Panel and a signing at the DC Comics booth. Above are the panelists, left to right: VP & Executive Editor Bill Morrison, Senior Editor Dan Telfer, Art Director Suzy Hutchinson, Design Director Doug Thomson, Editor Allie Goertz, Associate Editor Paula Sevenbergen, and artists Luke McGarry, Sergio Aragonés, moi, and Peter Kuper. I just said something really witty, but unfortunately not out loud. Sergio does not approve. Me, Bill and Luke signed and sketched for folks at the DC booth. That’s a bootleg MAD shirt I’m wearing. More fun today! READ MORE

Catwoman week concludes with the most recent portrayal of (a young) Selena Kyle, Camren Bicodova from the TV show Gotham. I debated including her in the group as my usual criteria for these prints is an actor/actress must appear in a TV show or movie officially as the character, in costume. I left out the two Superboys from my “Men of Steel” print for that reason, and the kid Bruce Wayne from “Gotham” from my “Bats in the Belfry” print. However Camren arguably is the character already as she is a thief, is in a costume of sorts, and jumps off buildings, etc. Anyway I… READ MORE

It might be Monday but it’s still “Catwoman Week”! Today’s Catwoman is Anne Hathaway, who played Gotham’s most notorious cat burglar in 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises”. One more Catwoman to go, so check back tomorrow! There’s a lot of debate over who the best film/TV Catwoman was (Julie Newmar? Michelle Pfieffer?) but there is little debate over who the WORST one was. In Halle Berry‘s defense she didn’t have much to work with the script for the 2004’s “Catwoman”, and she famously showed up to accept her “Golden Raspberry” for “Worst Actress in a film”, which the basketball playing scene alone was worthy of. Oh well, she looked good. Look for my limited edition print featuring caricatures of all seven live-action “Catwomen” to debut at San Diego Comic Con and here in the Studio Store next week Wednesday, and for… READ MORE
