Later this month the National Cartoonists Society will be having their annual Reuben Awards Weekend in Memphis, and there will be a very special event taking place on Thursday the 26th. The NCS Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be hosting a fundraiser and auction that evening to benefit St. Jude and the incredible work they do, which will feature over 20 big name cartoonists (and me). I did the art for the above promotional poster. Here’s some of the details from the NCS website: As we head into Memphis this Memorial Day Weekend to attend the 70th annual NCS Reuben Awards, members… READ MORE

I believe the key to success is practice, practice, practice and I just wasn’t ready for it, but I was curious to know, when and what was your first ‘live’ caricature session and how did it go? A: I don’t remember the exact date but the first time I drew live caricatures was in May of 1985 at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL. I was contracted by a company called Fasen Arts to draw there for the summer. Although I had no experience doing live caricature I… READ MORE

With the news earlier this year that Penthouse is ceasing their print magazine, I thought I’d post some of the illustrations I’ve done for them over the years. Some time ago I did a post showing many of the Dave Navarro spot illustrations I did for his monthly column, you can see those here. This was my first job for them, a “timeline” of a typical office guy’s St. Patrick’s Day: READ MORE
