Crazy busy right now so here’s a quick look at a finished inked page from the humorous zombie comic “Z-People” I am doing for a company called Sitcomics. It’s a super sized 45 pages. The comic will be out this summer. READ MORE

For a couple of years I did regular illustrations for Penthouse that were used for a column written by rocker Dave Navarro. The column was a tongue-in-cheek sex advice sort of thing… mostly for humorous effect. The column stopped printing late last year. Again in honor of the final season of “American Idol”: As mentioned last week, I have done two pieces about “American Idol” in MAD… here’s the earlier one I did from MAD #440, April 2004, written by Greg Leitman. I would have posted some of the preliminary drawings but I guess all sketches/roughs for this are lost to posterity. Lots of private cameos in this one. Those are my kids’s names on the blackboard along with “Max Korn” and good friend Brady (Parham). Brady’s parents, caricaturist/illustrator Keelan and wife Barbie are in the center with a Tiki idol between them (inside joke). The guy wringing… READ MORE

Q: My question is how do you manage your time between the multiple projects, appearances, gigs, marketing, etc.? I’ve revived my caricature business and I’m trying my best to keep on top of these things myself and learning what I can and putting into practice what works so I would love to hear some ideas of your “time management” (more like self-management). Those who create art for a living, be it writing stories, drawing pictures, creating comics, making films, etc., are constantly fighting the bizarre conception among the rest of the world that what we do is effortless and not really work. Since what we create isn’t made from bricks or wood or plastic or any other tangible material other than our heads (and maybe a little paper, ink and paint), it isn’t really worth anything. Case in point: I’m working at a caricature… READ MORE
