Desmond wrote this week’s CLAPTRAP update, which you can read here. He details the process for how backers at the “Doofus” level and up can nominate and vote on two of the spoofs we’ll be doing for the book! He also reveals how we will be revealing a second sneak peek of one of our movie parodies TOMORROW! That’s a reveal of a reveal. Unreal. We reached our first stretch goal on Sunday, so ALL backers getting a physical shipment (that’s “Clod” level and up) will now get a 2″x9″ full color exclusive backer bookmark with their book, featuring art by me! That’s amazing, and… READ MORE

Okay these are not really from MAD. They are a bunch of MAD sketch covers I did for my “Virtual Artist’s Alley” table I have been doing in lieu of actual comic-cons, which of course are not happening right now. If you like these my next virtual artists alley event will likely be in March. BTW these are all done using brush pens and Copic markers. READ MORE

Q: What were some of your favorite MAD parodies to work on? A: I am a big Batman fan so the parodies I did one of the three Christopher Nolan movies are definitely at the top of that list: As far as TV shows, I loved doing Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Stranger Things. There were only a handful of movie/TV parodies I disliked doing. Most of the time these were the funnest, best projects to work on not matter the subject. Thanks to Minebot45 (via Reddit) for the question. If you have a question you want answered for the mailbag about cartooning, illustration, MAD Magazine, caricature or similar, e-mail… READ MORE

Earlier this month I released my “updated” James Bond caricature print “Shaken Not Stirred”. It was updated in that I added new caricatures of the two “unofficial” Bonds (meaning they were outside the “Broccoli” Bond film series) Barry Nelson (1954’s TV show “Climax!”) and David Niven (1967 spoof movie “Casino Royale), and I also did all new caricatures for both Sean Connery and George Lazenby, as I had grown to dislike the previous ones. The other four, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig were just slightly revised (removed the “wingtip” collars on their tuxes, which Bond aficionados assure me Bond would never… READ MORE

I’ve done a lot of work for superstar comedian Jeff Dunham over the years, from illustrations for his products to helping design some of his dummies. I did this logo/letterhead illustration for Jeff earlier this year. READ MORE

Here’s my drawing of today’s “The Daily Coronacature” subject: Sting! I almost drew him in the famous Dune codpiece, but then I came to my senses. READ MORE

Since Des Devlin and my book project CLAPTRAP is successfully funded, the next thing we’re apparently supposed to do is set some “Stretch Goals”. These are higher funding goals that, if reached, means we add or do more stuff for the book. The great thing about stretch goals is that if you are already one of those special people who have contributed to the book, you will benefit from our reaching these goals without doing anything at all! Well, that’s not exactly true. What we need our backers to do is continue to share our campaign far and wide, so it gets in front of… READ MORE
