Bonus Sketch o’the Week
December 6th, 2008 | Posted in Sketch O'The Week
Finally recovering from what might be to date the toughest assignment I’ve ever gotten from MAD in terms of complexity of the job and shortness of deadline… with Thanksgiving and my grandfather’s funeral tossed in. This bonus sketch o’the week is another very quick study I did but ended up not using on a recent job. It’s of conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

Nice sketch. Limbaugh’s hard to do, I would imagine, because his weight is always swinging up or down and it really shows in his face.
Also, my deepest sympathies about your grandfather. My grandparents are all gone and some days I sure miss them.
I found Limbaugh challenging mainly because I couldn’t find any decent references of him. As you say his look has changed so much over the years that there is no definitive “him” to latch on to.
Thanks for the condolences. My grandfather was my last remaining grandparent. He was 92 and a WW 2 veteran. Quite a guy. I will miss him.
The sketch is groovy: I’m sorry to hear about your grandfather, however. Sincere condolences and best wishes to your family from ours, Tom.
