Here’s my sketch of today’s “The Daily Coronacature” subject- Albert Einstein! As usual, the original is available in my Studio Store. Today is the one year anniversary of the start of “The Daily Coronacature”! On March 17th, 2020, I posted and drew our first subject… Eugene Levy. That was 366 days ago. It’s been a long year, but our little daily drawing exercise has been a fun distraction. I did it all myself for 100 days, then brought in a couple of others to start picking the subjects and posting on the Facebook Group Page and our Instagram account. I’ve just been choosing the Wednesday… READ MORE

Here’s my sketch of music legend Bo Diddley. Original available in the Studio Store as usual. Incidentally next Wednesday is March 17th, and will mark the one year anniversary of “The Daily Coronacature”!It’s hard to beleive, but I started it on March 17th, 2020. I will pick the subject that day, but that will be the last day I do that. It’s been a fun run but it’s time for me to step back completely. I’ll still be doing my “Sketch o’the Week” every Wednesday, but I will no longer be concerned about making sure the subject isn’t one that’s already been picked as a… READ MORE

Here’s my take on Nathan Fillion, drawn as Captain Mal from “Firefly”. Original available as always in the Studio Store. I have a story about meeting Nathan Fillion. Actually it’s a story about The Lovely Anna meeting Nathan Fillion, although I did too. This happened back in August of 2015 when Anna and I drove to Chicago for a comic book convention. Nathan was one of the big stars appearing at the con. The Lovely Anna loves Nathan Fillion. She has seen every episode of “Castle” multiple times. She has seen all the episodes of “Firefly”. I think she’s even seen “Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along… READ MORE

Here’s my sketch of the immortal Tina Turner, which I guess is not just for “The Daily Coronacature” or a “Sketch o’the Week”, but part of my “Classic Rock” series also… a three-fer! Original sketch is available in the Studio Store as usual. This drawing is a good example of how a subject’s “physicality” can be an important part of their caricature. Tina of course has the massive hair, squinty eyes, big cheeks, etc, but she’s as much known for her dancing/poses and long legs when she performs. In fact, she has wide hips and kind of a thick waist that makes her torso seem… READ MORE

Here’s my caricature of Jeff Bridges for today’s “The Daily Coronacature”. Original available in the Studio Store. This is another example of the type of sketch you’ll be getting in your pre-order copy of CLAPTRAP if you are a “Schmendrick” level backer and choose “The Big Lebowski” as the parody you want a character sketch from. You get to choose any of the 12 movies we are spoofing in the book as where you want the sketch to come from. I will have at least one character from each to choose from, in some cases two. Only 14 of these “Schmendrick” sketch editions remain! READ MORE

Here’s my “The Daily Coronacature” sketch of the late Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister. As usual, the original is available in my Studio Store. I was never a huge Motörhead follower but I enjoyed their hard rocking music, and Lemmy was part of an “Ultimate Rock Weekend” I spent with old pals from high school back in the late 80’s. We went to three concerts back-to-back-to-back here in the Twin Cities. We saw Motörhead at First Avenue, Deep Purple (with Ian Gillan) at the St. Paul Civic Center and Eric Clapton at the Met Center. Great weekend… at least what I remember of it. READ MORE

It’s Wednesday! That’s my day to select the subject for the ongoing “The Daily Coronacature”. Today’s subject is one of the more caricaturable faces from rock n’ roll history, Motörhead frontman Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister. READ MORE
