In 2004 MAD added a feature called “The Fundalini Pages”, which consisted of short listicles, mini-features, gag cartoons and other quick-read content. I didn’t contribute to the Fundalini Pages much, but I did do the occasional spot illustration. In honor of Father’s Day this one was for a mini-listicle called “Signs Your Dad Loves Football More Than Your Family”. MAD #496, Dec 2008. Writer uncredited. READ MORE

Here’s another sneak peek at a panel from the parody I drew for MAD #8, written by Alec Owen. This one is tough to figure out. It it a parody of the 1971 classic “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”? Why is Guy Fieri playing Willy Wonka? What’s with the bucket of chicken parts? Was someone on drugs when they came up with this stuff? All questions will be answered (except the one about the drugs) when you run out and buy a copy of MAD #8, on sale June 11th! Fa fa fa! Since a couple of weeks ago I posted a favorite panel from the first “Spider-Man” movie parody, I thought I’d post one from “Spider-Sham, Too”, which appeared in MAD #446, October 2004 (written by Dick DeBartolo). I remember really liking this caricature of Willem Dafoe. The one of James Franco on the other hand… woof. READ MORE

Here’s one of my favorite panels from MAD’s parody of “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” entitled “Interminable 3: Rise of the Bad Scenes” written by Dick DeBartolo and printed in MAD #432, August 2003. I did a lot of sight gags in this parody making fun of Arnold Schwarzenegger being too old to play this character anymore. This was the scene in the film where Ahnuld’s terminator catches a bullet in his teeth and then spits it out. I drew his dentures coming out as wellin in addition to the AARP t-shirt. Those jokes seem quaint now that Ahnuld is about to film another… READ MORE

This was one of my favorite panels from MAD 418 (June 2002)’s parody of the first Tobey Maguire “Spider-Man” movie, written by Dick DeBartolo (the parody, not the movie). This was the schizo scene where Willem Defoe‘s character has a conversation with his collection of creepy masks. The cameo by Russell Crowe and Ed Harris was referencing “A Beautiful Mind”… and if you are upset I just spoiled the plot of that film for you, it was out almost 20 years ago so- your fault.
