The folks at ReedPop have officially announced they are postponing Emerald City Comic Con until sometime in summer 2020. I guess my decision to back out of the show was the right one. I think this is best for all involved. Kudos to ReedPop for handling all this with professionalism and concern for everyone involved. I have a lot going on this summer so hopefully the new dates will be ones I can do. If so I’ll see you this summer, Seattle!!! READ MORE

The Lovely Anna and I have made the difficult decision NOT to attend Emerald City Comic Con next weekend due to the fallout associated with the COVID-19 issue. I’m not concerned about catching COVID-19 and frankly I think the panic over it is overblown, but I am concerned about potentially contributing to its spread to people who are at risk for serious issues if they do contract it. I’m also concerned that the panic associated with it might cause us issues getting OUT of Seattle at the end of the show, and with a special needs dependent at home we cannot risk that. All signs… READ MORE

My 2020 comic-con schedule kicks off two weeks from today in Chicago at C2E2. You’ll find me in booth H-4 in Artist’s Alley. I’ll have my usual bunch of crap for sale, be doing caricatures and commission sketches, etc. etc. My exclusive (i.e. you can only get one of these at my booth at this show) is an oversized print of the splash page from MAD #7, written by Desmond Devlin. I’ll only have 20 of these, all hand numbered and signed. Anytime you want to check my convention schedule, just click on my “Appearances” page in the menu. READ MORE

Later this month I’ll be at C2E2 in Chicago… you’ll find me at table H-4 in Artist’s Alley. This is the one show I do where I can drive in, so I sometimes bring some original MAD pages long (these are so big that I don’t carry or ship them around to shows I have to fly to.) This year I thought I’d post a few pages I’ll be bringing with in the Studio Store, so C2E2 attendees can pre-buy them and pick them up at the show. I’ll post some more next week, but here’s one Chicagoians will probably like… the splash page to… READ MORE

Attention European artists!! My planned workshop in Vienna, Austria is just 6 months away and I am still several students short of my minimum to not cancel the class. I have a few months to reach the minimum of 12 before I would have to pay a fee to cancel the event, but it is teetering on the brink right now. This workshop and the one the following weekend in Dublin are my only two workshops in Europe in 2020. It will be at least a year or longer before I get back across the Atlantic to teach again, so if your New Year’s resolution… READ MORE
