I just scheduled a new 2019 workshop: Washington DC Aug 2-4th! Okay, it’s actually in an area of Arlington called Crystal City, but close enough to Washington to count. I’ve been trying to book a workshop in that area for a while now and it was tough to find a venue that was both affordable and had everything needed. Mission accomplished! This one is going to be yuge, so register for a spot today. Incidentally, if you go to register only seconds after this announcement posts, and you are surprised to see a lot of spaces already taken, that’s because people who are on my… READ MORE

It looks unlikely that I can do a full three day workshop in Amsterdam. The costs of staging one are just too high… I have to charge more than I think people would be able or willing to pay to do it. So here’s a new idea I have been toying with: a single day workshop. This would be a kind of crash course of a class, eliminating some of the extras like my inking and illustration coloring demos, the live caricature round robin, my work retrospective, and a few other things and getting right to the fundamentals of my theories behind seeing and observing,… READ MORE

Cartoonists! Comic book artists! Animators! Graphic Novelists! Etc! It’s time to get an Artists Alley table at the NCSFest International Comic Arts Festival taking place May 17-19th in beautiful Huntington Beach, California! What’s this all about, you say? Not another comic con?!? Nope, not another comic con. This festival is going to be a very different animal than the same old comic cons. This is a festival patterned after European events like Angouleme and Lyon in France, The Lakes International Comic Arts Festival in the UK, and Lucca in Italy. These festivals are not tradeshows held in cavernous convention centers. They are celebrations of the… READ MORE

For those of you who hated the MAD iPad app for getting the digital version of the magazine, good news! MAD is discontinuing the app and moving its digital subscriptions over to Magzter. Here are all the details: Q: What happened to my MAD in my MAD app? A: We have listened to our fans through tweets, emails, Facebook, and millions of two complaints via Google+ – the experience of reading issues on the MAD app left much to be desired.
