The Columbus Dispatch has a nice article on the “Artistically MAD: Seven Decades of Satire” exhibit that just got started at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum ten days ago. I’m definitely planning on making the trek to Ohio sometime this summer to see the show. The exhibit hangs through October 21st. READ MORE

My workshop in Long Island City starts today and runs through the weekend. We’ll be busy drawing in the Big Apple! Above is the class illustration I do for every workshop. All students get a print of it to get signed by there fellow students and myself. At the end of the weekend I draw a name for someone to take home the original inked artwork. READ MORE

Due to a last minute cancellation I still have one spot open in my workshop in Toronto on June 1-3rd. I won’t be back in Canada anytime soon, so jump on that! In other workshop news, my August 14-16th London workshop is back to being sold out and the November 9-11th workshop in Los Angeles is also sold out. Just a reminder that the Artistically MAD: Seven Decades of Satire exhibit at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum is opening this weekend with a special opening reception on Saturday. I just finished up a workshop in Chicago this past weekend. We had a great group! Thanks, everybody! I rarely have to cancel workshops for lack of interest but the workshop I have scheduled for Las Vegas, Sept 7-9th, is looking more and more like a casualty with only four students signed up so far. I’m setting a May 10th deadline for getting enough students sign up to meet my minimum of 8 or I will have to cancel the class. I’m in Chicago teaching one of my three day workshops this weekend. This is the class illustration… I caricature everyone in my MAD Magazine technique and they all get a print of it, olus a bunch of other goodies. Oh, and I teach everyone how I draw caricatures.
