If there was ever a poster child for the seedy side of becoming famous, she is it. I bought an entertainment mag with Anna Nicole Smith on the cover intending it as reference for this sketch at a train station bookstore. The clerk who rang me up immediately offered me her opinion on the matter. “Double murder”, she says. She’s probably right, but it’s the circus of it all that makes me cringe. READ MORE

Hard to believe pitchers and catchers are reporting to spring training this week. Baseball season is right around the corner. Here is a quick study of Boston Red Sox slugger (and former Minnesota Twin) David Ortiz. Twin’s GM Terry Ryan is a wizard at trades and knowing who to keep and who to let go, but this was one of his few glaring mistakes. READ MORE

Gary Oldman makes a creepy and tragic Dracula, and Anthony Hopkins is terrific as Van Helsing. READ MORE

Yesterday afternoon I was paging through magazines trying to find a face or figure that was interesting to draw in my sketchbook for the Sketch O’the Day when I realized something… I was spending quite a bit of time paging through magazines and trying to find things to draw for the Sketch O’the Day. Meanwhile I have three deadline jobs on the board. The Sketch O’the Day feature was a little too ambitious and time consuming. By the time I found a decent picture that I had an interest in drawing, drew it, scanned it, formatted it and uploaded it I as spending an hour… READ MORE
