Finally, the last but far from least Stooge: Moe Howard. Moe was basically the driving force behind the Stooges, usually acting as business manager and idea man. His death from lung cancer in 1975 ended his attempted Stooges comeback, and the group itself. Hope you enjoyed Stooges week! Female readers of Tom’s MAD Blog can now return to reading posts they “get” with this week’s Sunday Mailbag… at least until I decide to do a “Monty Python Week”. READ MORE

Last week I posted this sketch of Shemp Howard, one of the “Three Stooges” (well, “Six Stooges” really, but only three performed at a time). It went over pretty well, so I have decided to make this week “Stooges Week” here on Tom’s MAD Blog! I’ll be posting a new sketch of a Stooge each day. Since Shemp has already appeared, we’ll do the other five as the week goes on. Today’s Stooge is Joe Besser, who took over for Shemp after Shemp took over for Curly who took over for Shemp. Before you write me to ask “what about Fred Sanborn, Joe Palma and… READ MORE

Right now I am winging it somewhere over the Pacific on my way to Australia for the ACA Stanley Awards… full report on that later… so I have to cheat this week and post a sketch from a job. This spot illustration of Dave Navarro as a fortune teller was for Penthouse‘s October issue, which should be out now. Here’s the final: READ MORE

It’s a blast from the past today in the Sketh o’the Week- “Sons of Arnarchy” star Katey Sagal, far removed from the days I used to draw her for NOW’s “Married… with Children” comic book. READ MORE
