Our subject this week is pro golfer and ?¬?ber shill Tiger Woods. Woods still refuses to talk with police or give any explanation as to why he was driving away from his Florida home at 2:30 a.m. in such a hurry that he ran into a fire hydrant AND a tree. That may be his right to privacy in action like any other citizen has but, as most people do not earn over $90 million a year thanks to endorsements based on the likability, trust and wholesomeness of their persona, I don’t blame anyone who thinks he should be a bit more forthcoming about the… READ MORE

This week’s sketch subject is “Zombieland” actor Jesse Eisenberg. It’s rare that I go to see a movie with high expectations and have that movie live up to it. Zombieland was every bit as fun as the trailers looked. READ MORE

Click for a closer look… I have to cheat this week and post a sketch for a recent poster job instead of doing one in the sketchbook. The assignment here was to draw a scene showing a lady butting in line at the grocery store but having the man getting pushed back in line only mildly exasperated by it. The intent is to show that getting bent out of shape over something is not the best way to do things… unless you are trying to get attention for a rejected iPhone app, then in works like a charm. This week’s sketch(es) are coming live from the International Society of Caricature Artists‘s annual convention. As I mentioned before, I am one of four guest speakers from MAD Magazine at the event being held this week in Sandusky, OH, the others being Sam Viviano, Mark Fredrickson and Hermann Mejia. Often times the guest speakers catch “the bug” (and I’m not talking about H1N1) when at the convention and start drawing like the 220 plus other artists do all day and all night. So last night we found ourselves drawing each other in the main competition hall: At the table clockwise from left: Sam Viviano, Mark… READ MORE

I’d definitely be worried if this guy was defending our freedom. Just a quick sketch I did while we were waiting for our transport out of Kuwait and into the combat zone on Monday night. Some of the guys brought scanners and I was able to get a quick scan of it for the blog. READ MORE

Please forgive this reposting of an old sketch, but in light of events today I thought it appropriate. I am headed out this morning to Washington DC to meet up with a group of cartoonists from the National Cartoonists Society, and then we are off on another USO tour to met and draw for US troops like we did last year at this time. The trip is a little different this year, because after stops to visit wounded soliders in DC and then Landstuhl, Germany, we are off to the Persian Gulf to spend several days doing the same with active servicemen in both Kuwait… READ MORE
