Sketch O’The Week
A tiny sketch of Ugly Betty star Michael Urie. I had to write his name next to him so I remembered it. The Lovely Anna likes this show… I don’t get it myself. This sketch is only about 3 inches tall in the sketchbook. READ MORE

This week’s sketch is of bizarre film maker David Lynch. His “Blue Velvet” is still one of the weirdest films I’ve ever seen. The other day I caught a portion of his 1984 version of “Dune“. I’d forgotten how visually stunning that movie was… and how terrible the rest was. It does have it’s moments, but overall it was not a good adaption. READ MORE
This week’s sketch is Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey. I started it too close to the binder of the sketchbook and so it hangs into the spiral. I was working on it at Valleyfair the other day and some lady yelled at me for making his nose look like that. I thought I was being nice. READ MORE
A new study of one of my favorite authors, Stephen King. This is just a quick preliminary to a little side project I will be doing in the next few weeks… more details later. READ MORE

Joe Biden Sam Brownback Christopher Dodd Mitt Romney Fred Thompson These are very loose. I scanned then in and arranged them on a page that included 10 different primary candidates for an insurance magazine. I’ll share that cover as soon as it’s been published. READ MORE
Number One Son Thomas is doing so well in his first year of middle school that last week he got a reward… a copy of Halo 3 for his Xbox 360. He loves playing those chase and shoot games. A few days ago he came into my studio and asked if I would draw a picture of Halo’s “Master Chief” for the cover of his school organizer. The sketch above is the result. Loosely based on the cover of Halo 2, but with some creative fudging of the armor. READ MORE
