Exaggerated Insurance Ad!
This is a pretty funny ad for car insurance featuring a live caricature artist. I’m guessing the lady is an actor and they hired someone else to do the artwork, just because that’s how showbiz works. Maybe they did find an artist who was also the kind of actor they wanted, but unlikely. Kudos to the creators to cast an older, plump lady for this role rather than some skinny young guy. The end gag is funny. Basically the same one as this video from 2008:
Many years ago the local theme park I have operations at here in Minnesota did a series TV ads featuring people that worked different jobs in the park. They had one based on a ride operator, someone who ran a game, and… a caricature artist. Park management encouraged actual employees to audition. A few of my artists and myself auditioned. I was told I “looked” more like a lawyer than a caricaturist. One of my artists got cast… as a RIDE OPERATOR. They ended up casting a very short redheaded nerdy type as the artist. They had me be the ‘consultant’ and do all the art this guy was pretending to draw. I remember they didn’t like the background that resulted in a shot from the interior of the booth outward past the artist, so they built a reproduction of the entire corner of the booth in order to take that one shot with a different part of the park in the background.
