Four More CLAPTRAP Movie Spoof Subjects Revealed!
We are just a little over three weeks from the end of our CLAPTRAP IndieGoGo campaign, so Des and I have decided to stop being coy about which movies are going to be spoofed in the book. Since new movies are not really a thing right now, we are going to do 100% classic/cult hits that MAD never did.
You already know about Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and after yesterday, The Shawshank Redemption. Well here are four more we’ll be spoofing:
Goodfellas, The Big Lebowski, Blade Runner and Unforgiven!
That’s six of our ten target movies revealed! The remaining four consist of the two “Megalomaniac” perk contributor’s choices AND the two our “Doofus” and higher backers get to nominate and vote on. Those nutty Megalomaniacs, who used some pocket change to sponsor an entire parody that they get to name the subject of, have already told us which ones they want us to do. We’ll reveal those sometime soon. The last two are the ones our backers get to decide on.
Still don’t see that movie you wanted us to tackle? We still have that stretch goal where we will add an 11th parody, so there’s a chance! Help us out by sharing our campaign far and wide!

This is insane and so exciting! Thank you guys! For someone who lived for Mad movie parodies, this is a dream come true. Great choices! I can’t wait to vote on the two remaining spots.
Pleasantly surprised you’re tackling a comedic movie, “The Big Lebowski”. I watched the “Flippin’ Through” podcast where you or Desmond said it’s tougher to satirize a comedy film because you have to be funnier than the film.
It’s not impossible to spoof a comedy, but it is harder because comedies are a kind of parody already. They are making fun of “serious” films just by being farcical. We have to make fun of something that is making fun of something.
Excellent choice of films. This book is going to be next level.
