This was the first parody of any kind I did for MAD, a spoof of the TV show “Malcolm in the Middle”, written by Desmond Devlin and published in MAD #403, March 2001.

This is still – without any exaggeration whatsoever – one of my ten favourite MAD Magazine parodies of all time. Absolutely amazing artwork and writing. And this level of satirical excellence came in the FIRST TIME Tom got a TV parody assignment and Des got a “weekly-series” assignment (after doing spoofs of TRL, Pokemon and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire over the previous year and a half). Love it!
