Still really under the gun… I won’t be coming up for air until Monday. I ended up working at Valleyfair on Labor Day and remembered to bring my camera, so here is a sampling of some of the live caricatures I did that day:

Whenever you post these, I get to wondering: do any of them ever suddenly realize they’re being caricatured by THE Tom Richmond? Maybe a sneaking suspicion? A glimmer, perhaps? (Like the fellah in the second set rubbing his chin thoughtfully… he seems to be catching on; “Sayyy… wait just a minute…”)
I am quite certain should I stand up and suddenly announce that my customers are being drawn by “THE Tom Richmond” they and the crowd would erupt in a thunderous and spontaneous yawn.
It amazing to me that the likenesses are so dead on, do you still have days where you feel that your drawing is off, is it tougher at say the beginning of the season like sports.
Have you ever drawn someone, really thought you did an amazing job only to have someone say “I don’t look like that”.
I ahve seen some caricature artists that really are hit and miss, but yours not only look like them, you seem to capture the personalities.
