NCS St. Jude Auction Ends at 5pm CT!!!
We preempt the Sunday Mailbag for an important announcement…
The National Cartoonists Society Foundation’s cartoon art auction to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ends at 5:00 pm central time today. The above piece is my original ink and wash illustration for the St. Jude benefit fundraiser the NCS did on May 26th of this year. as of this writing, it’s going for a ridiculously cheap $280. There are a lot of other great originals going for a song right now, including a Robb Armstrong “Jump Start” daily for $12 (???), a Greg Evans “Luann” daily original for $22 (WTF?), an original… actually there are too many going for not just a steal but criminally low prices to list here. That’s mind boggling, since even if some of these strips are not necessarily your favorites, these are examples of original art for syndicated comic strips and published comic art. You’d think anyone interested in cartooning would love to have something like that if for nothing else to see the craft done at a high level, and it is helping kids with cancer.
So, get in there and bid. And remember all the proceeds go to St. Jude.

Seems like there was trouble bidding. Greg Cravens tried to bid and it wasn’t accepted. When I went to the site, I found this one but none of the others. I think HA may have goofed up.
