NCSFest/LICAF Battle of the Toons!

NCS President Jason Chatfield… and Batman

If you missed the live stream of the National Cartoonists Society/NCSFest this past weekend, you missed a lot of informative, entertaining, and fun stuff.

Or did you?

Actually the entire two day event is available to see again on YouTube, including all the panels, interviews, pro tips and workflow demos, awards, and the epic “Battle of the Toons”. The Battle of the Toons was a “Survivor” like competition where cartoonists each make a case for a particular comics character as the best ever, and to be the stand one standing after the audience votes on who stays and who goes. This was conducted live from the Lakes International Comic Arts Festival in Kendall, UK, and we joined live from the Society of Illustrators in New York City. I represented Batman. Here’s a direct link to the competition, which started a little over 4 hours into the NCSFest live stream, and here’s a link directly to my presentation if you just want to see the Batman-est 3 minutes of the show.

I would recommend you check out the whole show as you find time, because there are a lot of wonderful panels and presentations about all manner of the world of cartooning that are very informative, fascinating, and fun.
