No 2020 New York Comic Con

August 13th, 2020 | Posted in News

Yesterday the folks at ReedPop made an announcement that surprised absolutely no one, that New York Comic Con was not going to take place at the Javits Center as planned in 2020. Right now ReedPop is hosting a virtual comic con called “Metaverse“, which runs from today through August 16th. This online comic con includes panels, guests, exhibitors, cosplayers, and a a virtual “Artist’s Alley”. There will also be a virtual “NYCC” on the original dates of October 8-11th which will include a marketplace and, presumably, a vitrual NYCC Artist’s Alley. I will be participating in that one. Look for announcements from me leading up to the event with new prints and other junk from me, as well as opening up the commissions list again.

I could not participate in the “Metaverse” online event because I am still chipping away at my SDCC commissions list, but I’ll be ready for NYCC online in October!

When will actual comic-cons return? Who knows. I suspect not until next summer at the earliest. It sounds like an effective vaccine will need to have been released and circulated long enough for us to get on the backside of this pandemic. That time is not close yet.
