Off to Atlanta
January 4th, 2008 | Posted in General
Deadlines conquered.
Now I am off to Atlanta, Georgia on a very sad errand. After nearly 19 years I am closing up my caricature concession stand at the downtown retail complex Underground Atlanta. I’ll blog about it next week, but it was the first business I ever opened and I am sorry to see it die.
…gotta catch a plane. Sorry, no time for a real blog post today.

I’m sitting here in Omaha, Nebraska around my in-laws dining room table (they think I’m researching something!) and my mouth dropped open when I read this! The unsinkable Underground caricature stand. Wow. Speechless. Sorry to hear this Tom. It was an amazing run.
Yes, it was a little sad taking everything out today. Nothing lasts forever.
I was in underground Atlanta in Oct. 1990, Tom. Were you there then? I remember talking to about 3 artists working there and grilling them about their wages and making a living, etc. I was actually video taping the experience. I’ll have to go back and look at my VHS tape and see if I NOW know any of those lads.
