On the Drawing Board- 4/20/10

Lots of stuff going on right now, including a short but fun MAD piece for #504, more animation storyboards, a movie poster, a special project for a colleague and I’m just wrapping up the illustration for the 2010 National Cartoonist Society Reuben Awards T-shirt. Whew.

Here are some goofy images I did recently as part of what will be an animated gag for a TV show promo. Babies, baby… I got a lot of practice doing these at the theme parks:

Great faces and personalities! Maybe it’s just me, but it seems difficult to draw babies without them all looking similar (big heads with small faces). You did a great job making them all not only look different, but appear to have different personalities.

Actually they are all supposed to be octuplet siblings so I went with the same color/length of hair and dark eyes on purpose, but did want different attitudes and personalities… except they are all supposed to be behaving badly so no happy babies.

That’s okay. Happy babies are overrated.

Hi Tom nice babies, its very interesting how you deal with the likeness on every baby and at the same time they all different. Just awesome. Take care
