On the Drawing Board- 5/8/18
It’s been a while since I posted one of these “On the Drawing Board” updates… above is a fun little spot illustration I did for Scholastic a couple of months ago. A lock of George Washington‘s hair was recently found and authenticated, and this illustrated the blurb about the discovery in one of their magazines.
This is a bit of a quiet time in the studio… I’m between MAD jobs and working on several smaller projects, including a few personal illustrations I have been trying to work in around the edges:
- NCS Reubens Illustration– I did not do the Reuben brochure art this year, but am doing a little something for the program
- Jeff Dunham Illustrations– A couple of images for some potential products featuring Jeff’s characters
- Comic Book Pin-Up– Fun full page pin up I’m doing for a colleague’s Kickstarter project
- Personal caricature– This for a good friend for a wedding gift
There are a couple of other jobs I need to get a start on also, including a Marx Brothers book illustration and a documentary movie poster, but these will do for now. I expect to get my job for MAD #3 within a week or so, then it will be off to the races again.

Do you have anything in MAD #002, or are you still exhausted from MAD #001?
Yes, I have a measly 6 pages in MAD #2!
