This issue features the return of a few old school MAD contributors. Former MAD art director Ryan Flanders does illustration duty on :Game of Throne’s Spin-Offs” and former MAD editor Jonathan Bresman scribed “The Preposterous Palpatine Plat Hole”. After the appearances of Sam Viviano the last issue issue, will we see more O.I. (Original Idiots) in future issues?
My contribution this issue is the art for a 6 page sort-of-movie-parody of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” written by Alec Owen. It’s a very interesting mash-up of a parody of that film and a spoof of celebrity chef Guy Fieri. I’ll post a sneak peek of the splash page tomorrow.
So…. What are you waiting for??? Go out and buy a copy, you schmuck!

This is called an master piece and also the price is cheap so I think I should have to buy this one very soon.
I see that Bill Morrison is not on the masthead so I guess the rumors were true? I think he did a great job in getting the new Mad going and this is not a good thing if DC is already interfering with you guys. What’s the feeling among the writers and artists about this?
I can only speak for myself, but I am very unhappy about it.
Started reading the issue today (received it yesterday). Really enjoying “Silly Wonka.” I like how the magazine is doing parodies of older movies/TV shows. Question, Tom: do you think Mad will do more of that? I would love to see, in particular, satires of old shows like “The Jeffersons” and “Welcome Back Kotter?” Obviously they’ve been done before, and there was the recent MeTV parody, but I love watching all these channels that program reruns of “Facts of Life” and “Diff’rent Strokes” and it makes me want to see new parodies of them. I also too would love to see several movie/TV parodies in an issue, like Cracked used to do toward the end of its run. The articles are great, and I love the comics, but I sometimes wish for more parodies. Anyone old enough to remember magazines like Sick! will remember they were all movie/TV parodies. I wonder if something like that would increase sales. Anyway, thanks for reading, always enjoy your work…
Will you create a spoof of Captian Marvel?
That would be awesome, i love all you’r movie/TV spoofs in Mad
That’s not up to me. MAD decides what movies get spoofed. I just draw them
Ok thank’s
