Congratulations to Minnesota’s 6th district for continuing to prove to the nation you are not afraid to elect a national embarrassment like Michelle Bachman to represent you in congress.
BTW, I don’t live in the 6th district, thank God.

Yeah, because Bachman is all about classy.
Yeah, but here’s the thing, Tom: We’re supposed to be BETTER than these craven assholes that run for office. I would have thought you’d have plenty to keep you happy today…and that’s what I found the most disappointing about your Bachmann post: you focusing on the one tiny cloud on the post-election landscape for MN liberals. Wow…pity it couldn’t have been a 100% perfect outcome instead of just a 90% perfect outcome. Sucks that there are people who live among us who disagree with us, right?
Obviously it’s your blog and you can talk about whatever the hell you want, but I just found it kinda sad and petty, actually. I thought you were better than that.
I disagree with many politicians I can still respect and admire on both sides of the aisle. This woman deserves none, and as republican you should be more upset than I, Mark. It’s because of tea party nutjobs like Bachman the GOP is floundering.
*sigh* Sure beats watching Saving Private Ryan.
Well her hubby is certainly classy….and SASSY!!! (I miss Phil Hartman!)
I can not believe that we re-elected her.
I am so ashamed of where I live this morning.
If we all have to deal with another four years of the SAME president, than you all can deal with four more years with the same congresswoman! That said, I visit the Mad Blog for peace, art & comfort NOT politics! I think we’ve all had enough of that!

As I was driving home last night after covering the election in the newsroom, I was wondering if you had ever drawn Michelle “Hysterical” Bachman. Thanks for the surprise this morning. She is indeed a gross embarrassment to the state of Minnesota. Once again, she will not add to the intelligence of any debate in Congress.
Hopefully Alfred E. Neuman will move to her district and challenge her in the next election.
I think you’ve captured the “Batsh*t Crazy” look perfectly. She is a nutjob and it’s too bad she got re-elected. Republicans like Mark Engblom just keep supporting the “crazy” and it keeps taking the republican party down!

I’m a self learned artist and I’m a beginner, and For me,visiting your blog is a oportunity to learn,to improve my skills;and I dont care if the sketch of the day is about religion,old,new,politics or silly people. The only I know is that I love art and I need focusing in the details of the drawing and try to think hard…how you did it! …then I gonna choose my own way and the subjets that bring me happiness…
Nice, Tom! She did pretty well considering the mainstream media didn’t act as her campaign cheerleader, like they did for the prez. I commend her for standing up for the unpopular truth…Plus she’s definitely hotter than Pelosi:) Bachman 2016!!!

All I care to say about politics on-line is “politicians deserve the amount of respect that is equal to what comes out of their mouths.” Otherwise great caricature. Live bold or die gutless!
I agree with Lee! Tom, I’ve admired your work and I’m surprised because I’ve never heard you bad mouth anyone. I live up here in Canada and from where I’m standing that was an all-around nasty election. From the outside you guys look like a seriously divided country! I’ve admired the fact that you’ve always seemed to be above the partisan hackery with your political work. Aren’t you worried about alienating others who don’t share your particular view?
Nope. I respect anyone who gives their time and energy towards genuinely making their community, be it city, county, state or country, a better place, no matter their party. I might not agree with their ideas or philosophies, but I respect their efforts if I believe them genuine. Bachmann is not one of those people.
