Sketch o’the Week
March 31st, 2010 | Posted in Sketch O'The Week
Our Sketch o’the Week series of ink-wash caricatures of the cast of “LOST” continues with this one of Naveen Andrews, who plays the former Iraqi Republican guardsman and interrogator Sayid Jarrah. I was informed by my neighbor Kim, a fellow LOST fanatic, that if my next subject was not Sayid she would have me killed. I live to draw another day.

I simply cannot get enough of this style. So. Good.
Tom, I am LOVING this series of “LOST” characters!!!!! Actually, I love your whole SOTW entries. My wife and I just finished watching the entire 1st season on DVD (borrowed) and we are officially hooked! We immediately ran out to purchase seasons 2-4 and we parked our butts in front of the TV. NOW after seeing the first season, YOUR drawings are SO MUCH MORE FUN to see ( and extremely accurate).
Thank You again for taking the time to compose this blog!
I really hope you have a poster made when you have them all complete. I would love to frame it and hang it!! Awesome.
Tom, your ink washes are extraordinary. Amazing control.
These are really great Tom! I loved doing ink washes in college. These make me want to go back to them.
Great job Tom as always. Love the style.
Your friend Bruce from Canada.
P.S Hope to see you in Vegas.
The eyes are amazing, and sold the whole drawing. Everything jelled nicely to create a great caricature. Can’t wait to see who is next…..
Hi Tom its amazing how you keep the essence of every character looking at their eyes you can see their really LOST!. I loved this technique and your method its very clean, i hope you can do various characters of different series, movies etc and put it all together at the end it would be a sequential sketch o the week (like your doing with the lost series but more frequently). Just a thought, take care.
Unbelievably gorgeous, Tom. Can’t get enough. As always, you continue to inspire me.
Simply phenomenal, Tom! Of course, your work always is… ;o)
You are knocking these out of the park, Tom. Fantastic likeness.
Thanks for the kind words, everybody.
Lee- I do the sketch right on the board.
