Sketch O’The Week
October 17th, 2007 | Posted in Sketch O'The Week
I try and make sure my Wednesday “Sketch O’the Week” is something I do in my sketchbook purely for the joy of drawing and not for a job. However this week I am going to cheat and share these extremely quick studies of some presidential candidate nominees I did as part of a cover job I finished late last week.
Joe Biden
Sam Brownback
Christopher Dodd
Mitt Romney
Fred Thompson
These are very loose. I scanned then in and arranged them on a page that included 10 different primary candidates for an insurance magazine. I’ll share that cover as soon as it’s been published.

Great quick sketches Tom.
You may not want to answer this one, but just out of curiosity, what is considered ‘quick’ for a man of your sketchitude? (great stuff, btw!)
Thanks, Chip and jgm3,
I didn’t exactly time myself, but I’d say and average of 10 minutes. These are not very large, about 3 or 4 inches tall is the biggest. The ones of Biden and Dodd are the fastest and were certainly less that 10 minutes.
I was just watching Dodd on Meet the Press and you’ve really got him down.
I didn’t realize until I saw your drawings, but Biden really has a Leslie Nielsen thing going on for him.
Ha ha! Leslie Nielson… yes, I definitely see that!
