Sketch o’the Week
March 4th, 2009 | Posted in Sketch O'The Week
A quick one of late night talk show veteran David Letterman. I confess while I used to watch Letterman a lot I haven’t seen him in years. I don’t watch any late night TV, actually. However I did enjoy this video list of the top ten bizarre Letterman guest appearances from TIME.com, spawned by the recent Joaquin Phoenix debacle. I remember watching the the Crispin Glover one the night it aired.

Can’t watch it, darnit. Seems more and more US videos on the net are not available in Canada. Frustrating.
Great Letterman sketch, though.
The Time.com list refers to them as disastrous interviews, but I think Dave would disagree(especially with Drew Barrymore) since they all generated a lot of press for the show. I do remember that Dave was truly angry with Harvey Pekar( this might be the reason that the American Splendor movie did not use the actual footage). Letterman’s still the heir to Johnny as the king of Late Night. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when he goes up againt Conan, Nice sketch!
