Many decades back, working as an usher at the Gopher movie theatre on Hennepin Ave. where the city center is now, I was taking tickets when Chuck Berry walked down the street. Another usher friend went to the Big boy burger joint next door and got Berry’s autograph. I was talked into doing the same, I sat down next to him at the counter with few people around, with pen in hand and used a restaurant blank card to write on. I said something like “Mr. Berry, can I get your autograph?”, he said “sure” or something, wrote – Cheers, Chuck Berry – on the card, I thanked him, shook his hand and said, roughly, “Have a great concert”, and he said something like “alright”. Not a long conversation, but I still have the card. I should get a frame shop to mat a copy of this and cut out an area for the autograph below.
Beautiful Render Tom…….. His Music Will never die……. never.. RIP Chuck
