Sketch o’the Week- Frank Gorshin!
January 3rd, 2018 | Posted in Sketch O'The Week
Since I mentioned last week I was getting bored with the “Classic Rock” series as a subject for the Sketch o’the Week, a friend on Facebook suggested I do a series of all the villains from the 1960’s Batman show. Great idea for the New Year! Here’s the first… one of my favorites: Frank Gorshin as The Riddler! As always, the original is available in the Studio Store.

Love this one, especially the gloves(!), but please don’t up on the Classic rockers. Maybe sprinkle them in here and there? There are so many to choose from and so many individual looks! (Sounding a little Commandant Lassard of Police Academy with the “many many’s” there. Ooh! Police Academy! It never ends!)
Big fan of this idea!
There is an incredible likeness…
Great idea. Then how about James Bond villains afterwards.
I think Ill be villain-ed out for a while after that, but we’ll see.
Phenomenal caricature, as always, Tom! You simply amaze…
On a side note, few people know that Frank Gorshin was also a very talented and accomplished impressionist. It’s work a peek on youtube.

True. Frank was pretty famous as an impressionist at the time, but these days most people only know him as “The Riddler”… that’s a shame as he was a very versatile and talented performer.
