Tom’s Daily Coronacature- Danny DeVito!

Caricaturists have a technical term for the type of face Danny DeVito has… it’s called a “field day”. Danny’s face is far wider than it is tall, and yet it is “squeezed” in the temple area so he has a squat “peanut” shaped head. His forehead is nearly as wide at the cranium sides as his lower face/jaw/jowls. When you have a subject with a headshape that has such an obvious and pronounced departure from the “typical” portrait head shape, it is easier to push the exaggerations and not compromise the likeness.
