Tom’s Daily Coronacature- Stephen King!

May 19th, 2020 | Posted in Daily Coronacature

I kinda went overboard on today’s Daily Coronacature. Here’s my take on Stephen King.

King has a triangular face shape. He has a high forehead and a wide jaw, with the angle of the mandible bones quick low on his face. He has a short, small, upturned nose and a LOT of space between his nose and mouth.

    I don’t to bother you but I have a question… 🙂
In your book, you talk about a relation between nose ans eyes, with a pulley.
But sometimes, I find it hard – like with Stephen King : little nose but eyes close… For me…
So, the question is : does the pulley’s principle always works ?

Most of the time, but not always. There is a certain face type where the eyes and nose are all bunched together, with the distance between them exaggerated in its shortness. When you get a face like that, the only solution is to expand the face around those features, so you have an exaggeration that is like the Dick Tracy character “Littleface”. I did that with King here except I also exaggerated the space between his mouth and nose.

Thanks a lot – for the answer and the daily caricature and the book… and all, in fact :O)
