Trevor Moore- RIP

August 13th, 2021 | Posted in MAD Magazine

Last week Saturday comedian Trevor Moore passed away at 41 in a what is being referred to as a “tragic accident” in a residential yard in Los Angeles. So far no details have been released. Moore was one of the founders of the NYC comedy group “The Whitest Kids U Know”, which ran for 5 season on the Independent Film Channel.

Back in 2008 MAD did a “special advertising section” insert in issue #486 (and I think a number of other DC Comics publications) that promoted “The Whitest Kids U Know” show on IFC. It was kind of a mini MAD with a cover by Mark Fredrickson, a feature about the group by Dick DeBartolo and Hermann Mejia, and MAD/comic style versions of some of the WKUK more popular skits. There were four of these skit features, illustrated by Jack Syracuse (aka Sam Viviano), Tom Bunk, Drew Friedman, and one by me. Here’s the one I did (Moore is the hunter in the camo hat that shoots the squirrell).

Here’s a link to the actual skit:

Moore also did a lot of stand up and had several comedy albums. The group had a passionate fan base, and I am sure they are feeling the loss. RIP.

Hey Tom….. I was so sad too when I heard this about Trevor. He was the son of my good friends Mickey and Becki Moore, who have a graphic design firm and were the Christian music recording team , Mickey & Becki. My friend Noel Paul Stookey of Peter Paul and Mary actually produced a number of their albums many years ago. My heart goes out to them for this really sad tragedy. They are all wonderful people.
Your artwork is awesome in this episode.. Great work again and again my friend.
