What, Me Secretive?
Duct tape can do the impossible
As a freelancer you sometimes get a call to do a piece of artwork that is (at least to you personally) so cool that all you want to do is tell everybody . . . but you are sworn to secrecy until it’s either announced or published.
Yesterday I got a call about doing a special project that will fulfill one of my absolutely biggest, top-of-the-bucket-list, most long cherished, professional dreams, and I can’t %*&#@ tell anybody! In fairness, it’s probably only a really big deal to me, and I’m achieving it based on a technicality, but what the hell . . . it’s still going to be freaking cool.
Now that everybody some people a very few people my mom is on pins-and-needles, I’ll apologize for the self-serving and cryptic post. I’ll let everybody some people a very few people mom know what this is all about as soon as I can, to which she’ll probably say: “That’s IT?!? You need bigger ambitions.”
BTW, this is not a MAD cover job.

Oooh, I wanna know! I was actually lucky enough to have this feeling just a few weeks ago. But perhaps you already know what I’m talking about?
Hadn’t heard, but fill me in!
I know the feeling. I have a big, well-known client that gives me frequent work, but their NDA is so strict that I’m not allowed to show or discuss anything even *after* the project goes public. I’ve got an entire folder full of art I’d love to show but never can. But they pay well, they’re easy to work with and the projects are fun so I put up with it.
Congrats on your big project. Looking forward to the big reveal.
Field and Stream
Glad you cleared it up Tom about the mad cover right away, lol! I shall wait for the big news that you earned & in my mind was not a “technicality”, & was due to your talent!
Had I known it was going to frustrate you so much, I wouldn’t have sworn you to secrecy.
It can be revealed: Tom is designing the trillion-dollar coin.
Already done:

Isn’t it obvious? Tom is finally going to realize his lifelong dream of drawing the Red Tornado.
