Workshop News: Amsterdam 2019!!

I finally found a venue and a way to make a workshop in Amsterdam work, so it’s officially on for June 22-23rd, 2019 at the fabulous DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station, right in the heart of Amsterdam!!

This will be a little different than my usual workshops. I found it VERY expensive to book a space in Amsterdam, so I have reduced the number of days from 2 1/2 (Friday afternoon, Sat and Sun) to only the weekend. The workshop will go from 10am-6pm on Saturday June 22 and 10am to 5 pm on Sunday, June 23. That’s a reduction of 5 hours of class time from my normal Fri-Sat-Sun curriculum, but I will be eliminating a couple of extraneous demos that took a few hours, and cutting down a bit on the presentation time, so the total hands-on drawing time will be about the same. The tuition is a bit less at €400 rather than my standard €500 for workshops in Europe. One of the reasons it’s so expensive to do seminars in Amsterdam is the hotels charge you for a lot of extras you can’t option out of, so included in the workshop tuition is lunch on both days, plus coffee and tea service and refreshment breaks.

Another nice thing about this only being on the weekend is that, if a participant has a job during the week, they will not need to ask off of work to take the class . It will be interesting to see if that changes the demographic of the artists taking the workshop. I will be expanding the number of students to 15 because of the extra costs.

This and the Switzerland workshop will be my only stops in Europe in 2019. Amsterdam is an easy and cheap flight from just about anywhere in Europe, so if you have been thinking about taking one of my workshops don’t miss out on this one.
