Workshop Updates
The COVID-19 pandemic has naturally thrown a wrench into my 2020 workshop schedule. I have been forced to postpone the workshops that were scheduled to take place here in Minnesota last month, and in Chicago this past weekend. I’ve also had to postpone ones in NYC in May and the two in Europe (Vienna and Dublin) in June. I have been able to reschedule some but others are in limbo because many of the hotels/venues we were going to have the workshops in are closed and the sales staff laid off. My workshops in Detroit in August and Indianapolis in September are still going on as planned… for now.
This past weekend was supposed to be my workshop in the Chicago area. What I did for the students was conduct a Zoom meeting with a little demo, and I also did the class illustration (see above) and am shipping out a box with all the swag they would have gotten at the workshop. That workshop has been rescheduled for Sept 26-27th, so hopefully we’ll do the real thing then. I’m planning on doing something similar with all my postponed/rescheduled caricature workshops.
I’ve got plans in the works to rethink this whole workshop thing and move it to an online experience. I just need to figure out how to create as close to the “in person” experience as I can in the virtual world. I’ll have news about that soon.

I hope this is only temporary. I attended one of your workshops and I’m not sure a virtual / online workshop would measure up.
